Angel Cover Ministry

I am in way too many a number of yahoo groups. I do embroidery, yahoo groups for that. I sew and need fabric, yahoo groups for that. I have goats, yahoo groups for that.  Frugal ideas? Yup, you got it, groups for that too.

Some groups I have on “digest” as it makes it easy to pick through what I want to read. Others I get individual emails and pick through when the going gets too many.

These groups are a great source of help, and not just with their particular focus. Many of the groups allow conversations that are off topic as well as prayer requests and helps.

There recently came to my attention a ministry that is actually not that far away from where I live. It is something that is needed and can use help.

Angel Cover Ministry helps those who are homeless, in a shelter or children’s home. Here is what they say about themselves on their website:

Mission

To go where God leads us. To help all in need. To see the Lord’s ministry grow in reaching out and spreading His word.

I’ll tell you what it really means to worship the Lord. Remove the chains of prisoners who are chained unjustly. Free those who are abused! Share your food with everyone who is hungry; share your home with the poor and homeless.  Give clothes to those in need; don’t turn away your relatives. Then your light will shine like the dawning sun, and you will quickly be healed.  Your honesty will protect you as you advance, and the glory of the Lord will defend you from behind. When you beg the Lord for help, He will answer, “Here I am!” Isaiah 58:6-9

Founder’s Testimony

Angel Cover Ministry began as an un-named family project in late 2005 by Sylvia Gonzales. Projects included; feeding and sewing blankets for the homeless, sewing Christmas stockings for the unfortunate children in Mexico and celebrating Christmas with the children staying at the San Antonio Children’s Shelter. In early 2006, a local vender generously offered a donation of scrapped fabric to help my family in the mission of covering the homeless during the cold winter nights. As the months went on the donations increased as well as God’s blessings. Over time storing fabric became difficult. With the task of having to finance a home and 3 storages for the donated fabric, Ebay came into play as a huge blessing.  As Ebay sales progressed, our finances no longer were a stress factor.  Projects began to increase as well as my acceptance of having to take another step forward with the ministry.  Along with my acceptance, came the name of Angel Cover Ministry.  With God giving me the name of His ministry, I knew there was no turning back.  Only by the grace of God a place to plant the family ministry was noticed.  When He has his location set and His plan laid out, shopping around for another location was not an option.  Our current location “was” once known as a place where businesses never last. Even when this location did not have  business signs, God lead many of his children to this ministry. These children have grown closer to Him and have not only had changes to their lives but have changed my life as well. I am happy to say that Angel Cover Ministry was born through God’s hands on September 2006, and is still going strong.

How can you help? Go to their Donations Page and check it out. You can help even if you have no money. Fabric pieces, unfinished quilts or embroidery pieces are needed. Or, if you want to increase your trims stash you can buy on ebay to help with the financing of this ministry.

With so many needing help these days a warm blanket is a big blessing. We have so much even if we have “little” by today’s standards. If you have internet you have more money than many.
