Internet missing
Shew! I thought I was not going to make it to Works for me Wednesday at Rocks in My Dryer. My internet service went out in a storm Friday and I have been having withdrawal pains since.
Frustration mounted when I could not get anyone at the Tech support to talk to me, just a recording that said (DAH) “there is a problem”.
Being busy over the weekend helped, but then came evening and the frustration of not being able to read blogs, see the weather or news and work on some things I was researching. We went to Bible Study last night and I was so sure I would come home to my email.
Nope. Zip. No email. No blogs. No Google reader. Now it was really getting to me!
This morning I got up and called the internet provider again. This time I pretended to not have their service and went to the sales department. I was told, after pressing in my zip code on the keypad, “Good News! We have service in your area”. Yah, right! A salesman came on all set to sell me something and I let him know there was no service and I wanted to know what was going on, when we would get it and why they are taking so long.
He was very polite as he told me that lightening struck the tower and they were working on it, but had to order a part that did not come in when it was supposed to. He was so sorry for the delay and inconvenience.
Not as sorry as I was, he had internet!
I put my granddaughter down for her nap and wondered what I should do. It was mounting up in me, I could not stand not having internet. I could not take one more game of solitaire.
It was then that I thought about something I had researched out but never got around to doing. Writing an ebook.
This morning I wrote a number of pages while Scout slept, and a few more later. It is no where near done, but it is started. This was the hardest part for me.
What I found worked for me was to use the time for something I had been wanting to do and working on but never sat and did because I was so busy reading and researching other things.
It felt good to carry on my love life with the computer and be productive even if my internet provider was not cooperating! Sure Worked For Me!
Oh no, I hear thunder again!

Yaay!
Now, can you imagine this … when I moved into my old apartment, there was a full WEEK where I did not have internet *or* cable TV? WOW! The things you get done!

If it makes you feel any better, I’m in Mexico on vacation and the internet access here is dodgy at best. Visualize this: me walking around outside with my MacBook in my hands, searching for a signal! Not fun! Amazingly, I found a signal while sitting in my recliner chair on the beach looking out over the ocean. Nice!

I don’t think that I would be able to go that long without service either. I know for a fact that I wouldn’t. When we moved into our new apartment. It took 2 weeks for them to come and hook up the cable and internet service. Well the day came to hook it up and the guy never showed. So we called. They lost our order. So it was never processed. I had to wait a whole week more. That was 3 weeks with nothing. I thought I was going to loose my mind. But my house was much cleaner. Lol
